n8n integration

HelpRange in your n8n workflows

Self-hosted or n8n cloud – use the HTTP Request node to upload documents to HelpRange, create tracked links with any protection, and run workflows when your documents are opened. Pair it with n8n AI agents and our MCP server.

Upload binary data

Send the binary file from any node (Drive, S3, IMAP) to /api/v2/files as multipart “file”.

Links with any settings

Passcode, expiry, views limit, watermark, e-mail gate and download control per link.

Workflows on views

Webhook node + HelpRange webhook, or a Schedule Trigger polling /api/v2/views.

AI agents

n8n AI Agent can use HelpRange through the MCP Client tool: https://www.helprange.com/mcp.

Your permissions only

The API key acts as you – your folders only, nothing can be deleted.

Self-hosted friendly

Plain HTTPS and JSON – no community node to install.

How it works
1. Create a credential

Header Auth with name X-API-Key and your HelpRange API key.

2. Add an HTTP Request node

POST https://www.helprange.com/api/v2/files, body “Form-Data” with a binary field “file”.

3. Create the link

Another HTTP Request: POST /api/v2/files/{{ $json.id }}/links with JSON settings.

Not needed: the HTTP Request node covers every endpoint; a credential with the X-API-Key header is all you set up.

Can an n8n AI agent work with my documents?

Yes – connect the agent to the HelpRange MCP server; it can read documents and statistics, upload files and create links.
